Google Analytics Links Are Expanding Beyond Google Platforms

Google Analytics has traditionally been closely connected with Google's own advertising ecosystem. But if you head to Admin > Product links in GA4 today, you'll see that the list goes much further.

Google Analytics now supports direct links with Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest and Snapchat, alongside Google products such as Google Ads, Search Console and Merchant Center. Google also provides dedicated documentation for importing data from these external systems.

For advertisers, this is an important improvement. Instead of looking at Google Analytics as one report and each social advertising platform as another, more paid media data can now be brought together inside GA4.

What Can You Import Through Google Analytics Links?

The social advertising integrations are designed around paid campaign data, not general organic social media performance.

Depending on the platform, Google Analytics can import aggregated advertising metrics including:

Data

What It Adds to GA4

Ad cost

How much was spent on the campaign

Ad clicks

The number of clicks generated

Ad impressions

The number of ad impressions delivered

Campaign information

Helps associate imported advertising data with the relevant paid traffic

Google explicitly documents cost, click and impression imports for TikTok, Reddit and Pinterest, while describing the integrations as a way to improve cross-channel or multi-channel reporting.

Google Analytics Links Supported for Social Advertising Platforms

The current Google Analytics Data Import documentation includes dedicated connections for:

  • Meta

  • TikTok

  • Reddit

  • Pinterest

  • Snapchat

These sit alongside the much broader Product links section shown in GA4, which includes Google Ads, Search Console, Merchant Center, Google Play, Display & Video 360 and other Google products.

Why Connecting Meta, TikTok and Other Platforms to GA4 Matters

The biggest benefit is not simply having more data inside Google Analytics. It is having more of your advertising data in the same measurement environment.

Take TikTok as an example. Google describes the integration as bridging the gap between TikTok advertising spend and on-site customer behaviour. It imports aggregated TikTok campaign and cost data so it can be used in multi-channel reporting.

The same principle applies across the supported platforms.

For marketers managing campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and other channels, this makes GA4 more useful as a central measurement platform. You can analyse advertising activity alongside what users actually do after arriving on your website.

That is particularly useful when a customer's journey does not begin and end on one platform.

Google Analytics Links Do Not Replace the Advertising Platforms

There is an important distinction here.

Connecting these accounts does not mean Google Analytics suddenly becomes a replacement for Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager or the reporting tools within the individual platforms.

You will still need the native platforms for detailed campaign management, optimisation and platform-specific reporting.

Instead, Google Analytics gives you another perspective: cross-channel measurement.

For example, Reddit's integration lets advertisers view paid Reddit performance and attribution information within Analytics, while its campaign data import populates Ads cost, Ads clicks and Ads impressions.

This is where the feature becomes useful. You are not replacing platform reporting. You are reducing the number of data silos between platforms.

How to Find Google Analytics Links

If you want to check which integrations are available for your GA4 property:

  1. Open your Google Analytics property.

  2. Go to Admin.

  3. Scroll to Product links.

  4. Select the advertising platform you want to connect.

  5. Follow the setup process to link the relevant advertising account.

For example, Google's TikTok documentation instructs users to select TikTok Links under Product links and then choose Link. Reddit, Pinterest and Snap use a similar connection process.

There is one technical point advertisers should not ignore: UTM configuration still matters. Google's documentation for these integrations requires utm_source and utm_medium, while utm_campaign and utm_id are highly recommended for platforms such as TikTok, Reddit and Pinterest.

Better Cross-Channel Reporting Starts With Better Data

Google Analytics links make GA4 increasingly useful for advertisers working across multiple paid media platforms.

Being able to bring Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest and Snap campaign data closer to your website and conversion data means less fragmented reporting and a clearer cross-channel view.

But connecting the accounts is only part of the job. Your tracking, UTMs, events, key events and overall GA4 setup still need to be configured correctly if you want the data to be useful.

Yes. Google currently lists Connect Meta to Google Analytics as one of its supported external campaign-data integrations.

Can Google Analytics connect to TikTok Ads?

Yes. TikTok Ads can be linked to Google Analytics, allowing aggregated campaign metrics including cost, clicks and impressions to be imported for paid TikTok traffic.

Can you connect Reddit Ads to Google Analytics?

Yes. Google Analytics supports a Reddit Ads connection for importing campaign data and viewing paid Reddit performance and attribution information within GA4.
